The Queen of Clubs is Argine, which isn’t a real nor mythological queen of any sort.The Greek goddess Athena for the Queen of Spades.There are a lot of historical queens the French could’ve picked - Queen of Sheba, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, etc. Old Testament Kind David as the King of Spadesįor the Queens, I must say, the choice could’ve been a little bit better.Although there isn’t an official declaration on which royal is on which card, some of the older publications listed it in this way:įor Kings, they went with some pretty good choices, including: Instead, they went with historic or mythological royals from Greek, Roman, Christian, and Jewish traditions. Lots of different royals appeared on the nonstandard decks over the years. In modern decks, the pip cards aren’t usually very elaborate as they are functional. The others are face cards, the King, Queen, and Jack, also known as court cards - for obvious reasons. Most card decks you’re familiar with have numbered cards. And yet, there is something about this ‘vanilla deck’ that still holds style and mystery. Was it worth the sacrifice? That’s your call. However, the quirkiness of those cards was sacrificed to allow for clarity and consistency for all players. There was a time when almost every brand of deck would look unique. A woman that’s come to the realization that everything she needs to fulfill her mission can be found within - in her heart.ĭid you know that the Queen of Heart is based on a historical figure? And that she is the antagonist in one of my favorite cartoons ever? Yup, the Queen of Hearts holds great meaning and it’s no wonder why so many people choose to tattoo her. When I am looking at a Queen of Hearts tattoo, I see someone who’s uncovered her powers and knows how to use them. Do you feel like one? Well, it’s time to. A woman that’s not perfect but is complete. The Queen of Hearts… a woman who’s mastered herself. ![]()
